The project..

Adam bought a 2006 Ford E250 cargo van, and now he's transforming it into a camper van (self-made Sportsmobile) for himself, Liz and the dogs (and maybe the cat). Liz is photodocumenting the project here, start to finish!

First blog post ever!

THE VAN!

Liz is writing this blog while Adam is out in the garage working on the van. If anything (or everything) sounds very nontechnical...well, that's because I wrote it!

We are selling the Ranger....so if you're interested, give us a call!

To start, Adam stuffed fiberglass insulation in all of the openings in the van walls. He also ripped out the flooring (one layer of heavy carpet style insulation and a layer of black vinyl). He put the black vinyl back down on the floor surface only. He then pre-cut foam board insulation and plywood for the floor. When the silver foil insulation FINALLY arrived via FedEx, he covered the wheel humps with the silver insulation, recovered the wheel humps with the black vinyl, and then laid the foam insulation and plywood back down and screwed it down. Next up, carpet....

Meanwhile, Bruce the cat chilled out in the house.

Bruce!

And the dogs went in the house and then back out to the garage about a million times.

Dude (left) and Carex (right); Also note the port-a-potty that will eventually live in the van. Currently lives in the dining room (a bit weird).
